EXTRA QUALITY CHECK / RECYLING OF VIDEO
Timecode and Blackburst pre-recording
Before recording Timecode and Blackburst signals videocassettes are subjected to the following procedures:
Quality control for tape dropouts and physical damage. Verifying the actual length of the videotape. Checking the mechanical condition of the cassette. Polishing the tape surface, decreasing wear on recorder heads. Cleaning the tape surface, minimising contamination of the recorder heads.
Benefits of pre-recording Timecode/Blackburst Saves time and manpower for your organisation. Saves equipment from un-necessary wear and tear, resulting in lower maintenance costs and prolonged life of expensive video heads Every tape is recorded full-length with standard LTC/VITC timecode. Timecode start time can be customised if 00:00:00:00 is not your required standard. Checking Master/Archive videocassettes
Before playing or copying an aged (archived) videocassette we recommend that the original is first checked and cleaned. Our checking and cleaning process will remove dust, dirt and potential loose particles of emulsion that can lead to playback problems. An original videocassette that has been cleaned in this way will always result in an improved quality copy.
Storage of Master/Archive videocassettes
Valuable archive material can be protected by storing the specific master videocassette (or a copy of the original) in a separate, dedicated, secure and/or environmentally controlled) location. This will significantly reduce the risk of losing valuable and/or historic recordings.
XD-cam professinal disc recycling All recorded data on the disc is erased (including the CLIP-list) The disc surface is checked for any physical damage. Confirmation that mechanical parts are fully functional. The disc surface is cleaned (especially with ENG recording the disc and/or cartridge can become dirty) to prevent digital errors in new recordings. Old stickers, labels and adhesive residue are removed from each disc. The record protection mechanism is reset for further recording. Each box is cleaned and a new inlay card provided. New labels are inserted with each disc. After Quality-control every disc can be re-used in DV-Cam or MPEG-IMX mode.
Benefits of recycling
Significant savings on buying new discs. XD-Cam discs are manufactured to be re-used at least 1000 times without lose of quality. Environmentally friendly.
